Victoria was admitted to legal practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of South Australia in 1997 and in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2008.
Upon admission, Victoria spent several years in general legal practice appearing in a cross section of jurisdictions including the Supreme Court, District Court, Magistrates Courts and Family Court of Australia.
Victoria joined Clelands Lawyers Adelaide in 2015 and became a director in 2019.
Victoria is a specialist Divorce and Family Lawyer practicing solely in the Family Court of Australia and in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
Victoria’s legal practice encompasses the many aspects of Family Law including:
- Children disputes/ Parenting Plans
- Property settlements
- Binding Financial Agreements
- Relocation of children across state borders and internationally
- Maintenance of parties to the marriage
- Child Support
- Same sex marriages/ de facto relationships
- Trans gender issues of children
Victoria has been involved in several ground breaking and complex litigation both in the Federal Circuit Court and in the Family Court of Australia as well as the Appellant Court of the Family Court of Australia.
Victoria is sympathetic to the needs of her client’s, often when they are at the very early stages of a very distressing life style change. She provides them with sound and realistic legal advice and is quick to identify and priorities issues that require attention from the initial consultation.
Victoria’s practice also involves resolving matters for her client’s quickly and cost effectively outside of the Family Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia precincts by alternative dispute resolution processes. These include informal conferences, negotiations and mediations where her clients have the capacity to control their destiny contemporaneously with receiving her expert legal advice.
