Property Law

The division of the matrimonial assets is determined by contributions which each spouse has made to the acquisition, maintenance and improvements of the assets and resources.  Your contribution may be as a homemaker and parent, a wage earner or a combination of the two.  There are many factors which are taken into account in assessing your contribution to the assets.  Clelands Lawyers can advise you of your rights and obligations with respect to matrimonial assets.  Before reaching any agreement with your spouse it is important to seek legal advice about your entitlements.

If you reach a property settlement with your spouse it is important that the Family Court record the terms of this agreement.  If it is not approved by the Court or made an order of the Court it is not likely to be binding.

Clelands Lawyers are one of the most respected Adelaide law firms who practice in family law. For more information our team will be pleased to assist you, contact Ben Farmer, Victoria Treloar or Shelley O'Connell
